CITY DWELLERS - Poem

8/8/2020

Hi!

As I shared in my last entry, I've made 2 poems about Barcelona so far,
though I've been living here for almost 8 months now. (hehe)

In this entry I would like to share with you the second one of them.

I hope you enjoy.

Thank you for your time and attention,
Nil

A woman batting her fan,
a man walking his dogs,
some kids listening to music,
bars filled with people,
a man with an accordion annoying the people in the bar,
hippies practising yoga,
a businessman on call,
a fitness buff running around,
a black man selling mandala blankets,
another homeless person sleeping on the streets,
a guitarist who will never see the big stages strumming and mumbling,
a skater,
two Russians on their bicycles,
a couple embracing,
a man from Pakistan with his headphones on,
an old woman on a wheelchair and a young latin-american one pushing her around,
a group of youngsters from Morocco hanging out,
an old man you feel a certain nostalgia around by the clothes he wears,
a runner,
a fitness class with their party music cranked up,
a repair guy,
a delivery guy,
a hipster on a scooter,
an old woman taking pictures,
a suit and tie type of guy,
your young average white male,
a young woman looking fine,
a toddler on a plastic motorcycle having a blast,
a barefoot girl the contents of whose notebook I would like to know,
a band in front of the cathedral,
a beggar on the church steps,
a night-crawler,
your average rebel teenager,
someone who looks like they know what they're doing,
a cop standing around,
a bin dude on his round,
a taxi driver,
a bus driver,
tourists taking a selfie,
locals taking a selfie,
a girl on roller-blades who looks as though she is flying,
parents who shout at their kids,
people on their phone in he tram,
Chinese people in a museum,
someone smoking a joint in a corner,
a barista,
someone drawing,
someone dancing in the middle of the square,
another homeless person I pretend not to see,
someone playing a steel-drum,
a violin player on the tram asking for money,
a puppeteer making his puppet play the piano,
someone reading a book,
a man carrying a shopping trolley full of stuff,
someone who got burnt at the beach,
two girls with ice-creams,
a dog barking,
a baby crying,
and another homeless person I pretend not to see.
