THE REMINDER OF CHOICE

What is seen
can't be unseen.

What is lived
can't be unlived.

As we live
we also die.

Slowly
but surely.

There will come an end
if anything, to this life.

To confront death
is to confront life.

What is past
cannot be made present.

What is to come
cannot be made present.

What is present
is all there is thus far.

That we choose when and where,
when and where we'll live.

For us to find out why,
why we came in the first place.

The things we say
cannot be taken aback.

The things we do
cannot be taken aback.

They cristalize and remain
in the sands of time.

And every day that comes
means another day that ends.

And someday,
there will be no tomorrow.

For then we must live now,
and make the most of it.

As long as there is life
there will be opportunity.

To realize the potential
that eagerly awaits.

The potential for what?
Each of us decides for themselves.

Life is opportunity,
life is precious.

To stall its realisation
the sign of ignorance.

Some wait until they lay in their graves,
I will not be one of them. And I pray you won't also.

What is can't be undone,
but how often is done what is right?

How often do we give ourselves the chance,
to live in our fullest capacity, as our authentic selves?

Sorrow is a choice
though one can't avoid pain.

To remain in sorrow is a choice
where no alternative has been found.

What is lived can't be unlived.
Why not choose to change now?

Why go on another day
living a half life?

Why leave the truest of our intentions
unrealised, unexpressed?

For what's sake does one live?
What propells you up in the morning?

The motions can't sustain you,
they drain you, don't they?

The path to freedom
is but a choice away.

To command meaning
and not fall into the motions of despair.

There is an abyss of non-deliberate living.
If there is something to fear, it is that.
What happens can't be undone,
the time is ticking, is of the essence.

The message is old,
but shall always remain pristine.

For we can always be led astray
and the chance for true living will always remain.

Our choice is the word
towards which the universe conspires.

In the most benevolent way,
in the most loving way.

Each has the capacity
to exercise their own choice.

That capacity
cannot be taken away.

For what we so firmly believe true
is simply the story we've rapped around life.

Life cannot hurt
we can choose to hurt.

Life cannot mean
we can choose meaning.

And whenever we live inauthentically,
we pain, we pain!

So sorrow is the chance we are given
to transcend its cause.

Its cause always within us
a battle we are fighting.

And we want peace, we want peace!
What fights back at us is what we have neglected.

What we have neglected
is what we have avoided.

What we have avoided
is what we believe will cause us pain.

And that which we think will cause us pain
is the opportunity we have to grow.

When we neglect that opportunity
it strives to call our attention toward it.

And it will use any means necessary
to get us to notice.

Life goes on
and with choice we are presented.

To choose to wait
is also a choice.

And there is no reason to wait.
There is no reason to wait!

Now is the time
never the alternative.

What we don't address now
may never be addressed.

So choose to live now!
And to succumb to no other!

You are the only chance you've got!
Don't waste it in trying to become another!

Open yourself to life
and life will open all doors for you.

Open, open!

Release your potential!

Don't hold yourself back!

Is it worth your sorrow?
Is it worth your death to remind you?

I say there's a truth to our existence,
and that we either realise it or perish.

May I offer you this reminder,
and return to you the opportunity to choose.
